In addition to our leadership programs, CPI maintains a robust research agenda that seeks to improve police practice with evidence-based strategies. Research at CPI is conducted by Dr. Melinda Schlager, CPI's executive director; Dr. Steve Bishopp, CPI's director of research and an active duty sergeant with the Dallas Police Department; and by our graduate students, Crystal Martinez and Vrishali Kanvinde, both from the University of Texas at Dallas doctoral program in criminology

CPI's research contributions include work on use of force, body worn cameras, and the effects of stress on police officers.

For more information about our research agenda or for specific research requests, please contact Dr. Steve Bishopp
