Dr. Subhro Mitra, UNT Dallas associate professor of logistics and supply chain management, and the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Club brought industry professionals and students together for training and networking Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Students from both UNT Dallas and Cedar Valley College were in attendance.

Logistics professionals from Texas Instruments and Southern Glazers had opportunities to train and connect with students, faculty, staff, and community leaders. These efforts are setting the stage for UNT Dallas to become a center of logistics and supply chain management research, education and outreach for the region.

“Logistics and supply chain management is an intriguing area of study, especially in this region at this point in history,” Mitra said. “In the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, more than 800,000 people are working in logistics-related careers. Those numbers are expected to increase. It’s exciting for the industry, and it’s a great opportunity for our students who are ready to work.”
