UNT Dallas is on a mission to empower area youth this summer through entrepreneurship. With the help of the Honorable Michael Williams, UNT Dallas’ Distinguished Leader-in-Residence and former TEA Commissioner, the university has partnered with Bishop T.D. Jakes and The Potter’s House to promote entrepreneurship among middle and high school students.

The project is part of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ MegaFest that runs June 28-July 1, 2017. UNT Dallas will operate MegaFest’s Entrepreneur Slam contest for 11 to 19 year olds. Faculty from the UNT Dallas School of Business will be on hand to offer advice to students. Up to $50,000 in scholarships will be handed out at the event.

MegaFest and its Shark Tank-style entrepreneurship competition were recently featured in the Dallas Morning News. Read more about the program and how youth can get involved at https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/2017/06/01/encouragement-home-grown-entrepreneurs.
