Period 1, Early Registration

Period 1, Early Registration

Description

For continuing students only (enrolled Spring, Summer and/or Fall 2011).

Students should contact the department of their major for specific information related to advising and registration. Registration will continue until 11:59 p.m., December 12.

Payment deadline

The payment deadline for Period 1, Early Registration is 5 p.m., December 13.

Payment arrangements must be completed by the deadline, or your registration request will be canceled. Account balances for Spring 2012 will be available at my.unt.edu. Once you complete registration, go to your MyUNT Student Center to view your charges.

November 15, Thursday

Last day for all graduate students new to UNTD and all former graduate students (those who have not been enrolled at least once during the 12 months prior to spring and/or who have received a degree from UNTD since their last enrollment) to submit graduate admission applications for spring semester regular registration. Graduate applications received after this deadline must be accompanied by all official transcripts.

Graduate students who submit applications after this date, if accepted, will register during late registration and pay a late application and late registration fee.

Some departments have earlier deadline. Please refer to college/departmental information in the Academic Catalog for additional admission deadlines.

No applications for graduate admission for the Spring 2012 semester will be accepted after January 11.

Last day for graduate students to request change of major in the Toulouse Graduate School prior to spring registration.

December 1, Thursday

Last day for all undergraduate students new to UNTD to submit undergraduate admission applications for spring semester regular registration. Any undergraduate applications received after this deadline must be accompanied by all official transcripts and test scores. The student must meet the stated admission requirements and will register during late registration and pay a late registration fee.

Individual exceptions to the stated undergraduate admissions requirements cannot be considered after this date.

No applications for undergraduate admission for the Spring 2011 semester will be accepted after January 9.

NOTE: Students who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher must apply to the Graduate School before they may continue enrollment.

Description

Period 2 is for all students who registered and completed payment arrangements by December 13, 2011. These students may revise their schedules for Spring 2012 during Period 2, Schedule Revision

Period 3, Orientation Registration

Period 3, Orientation Registration

Description

Only for new undergraduate students who applied for admission by December 1 and attended orientation.

Orientation begins at 8:00 a.m. and is mandatory for all new undergraduate students. Students must pre-register for orientation. For specific dates and information, see Information for Undergraduate Students or call (972) 780-3642.

Note: New graduate students (anyone who has at least a Bachelor's degree) do not attend this orientation.

Payment deadline

The payment deadline for Period 3 is due by 6 p.m. on the same day that you register.

Period 4, Regular Registration

Period 4, Regular Registration

Description

For continuing students, any undergraduate students who missed new and transfer registration, and for new and former graduate students. All new undergraduates must attend orientation before they can register for classes.

Payment deadline

Payment is due the same day you register. If you fail to pay fees, your classes will be dropped. You will have to re-register during Period 5, Late Registration.

Period 5, Late Registration

Period 5, Late Registration

Description

For students who have not registered. A $25 late registration fee is charged.

Payment deadline

Payment deadline for Period 5 is 6 p.m. on the same day you register. Fee payment must be completed by the payment deadline or the registration request will be canceled.

To pay by check or credit card, go online to my.unt.edu. UNT Dallas does not accept cash at this time.

Note: UNT Dallas offices are closed Saturday, January 15 through Monday, January 17.

Last day for 80 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from the semester (dropping all courses).

Census date.

Last day to drop a course (not withdrawing from the semester) and receive refund. Subsequent drops require instructor's written consent.

Last day for 70 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from the semester (dropping all classes).

January 31, Tuesday

Beginning this date, a student who wishes to drop a course must first receive written consent of the instructor. A grade of W is assigned.

February 6, Monday

Last day for 50 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from the semester (dropping all classes).

February 7, Tuesday

Last day to apply for May undergraduate graduation.

February 13, Monday

Last day for 25 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from the semester (dropping all classes).

Last day for any partial refund of tuition upon withdrawal.

February 17, Friday

Second installment of tuition due for Spring 2012.
$25 delinquent payment fee assessed on all late payments

.Last day to apply for May graduate graduation without paying a late fee. Must be in good standing to file for graduation.

February 24, Friday

Last day for a change in pass/no pass status.

Last day to drop a course or withdraw from the semester with a grade of W for courses that the student is not passing. After this date, a grade of WF may be recorded.

Note: Dropping all courses constitutes withdrawing from the university for the semester.

February 27, Monday

Beginning this date, instructors may drop students with grade of WF for nonattendance.

March 9, Friday

Mid semester.

Last day to file graduate degree graduation application with late fee. Graduate graduation applications received after this date will be processed for August graduation. Must be in good standing to file for graduation.

March 19 - 25
Monday - Sunday

Spring Vacation - Classes do not meet.

March 23, Friday

Final installment of tuition due for Spring 2012. $25 delinquent payment fee assessed on all late payments.

March 27, Monday

Last day for a student to drop a course with the consent of the instructor.

March 30, Friday

Last day for master's and doctoral degree applicants for May graduation to

  • File defended printout and .pdf disk of thesis or dissertation in the graduate dean's office
  • Remove grades of I in all courses required for degree (exceptions: thesis and dissertation).
  • See the graduate catalog for degree application information.

    Last day for departments to report to the graduate dean's office the results of final comprehensive examination for graduating master's students and remove grades of I in all required courses for graduate degrees.

    Last day for master's and doctoral candidates to complete foreign language requirement for degree.

April 2, Monday Early Registration period begins by classificaton for Summer and Fall 2012.

April 9, Monday

Beginning this date, a student who qualifies may request a grade of I.

April 20, Friday

Last day for an instructor to drop a student with a grade of WF for non-attendance. Last day to withdraw from the semester. Process must be completed by 5:00 p.m. in the Office of the Registrar.

April 28 - May 3 Saturday - Thursday

Pre-finals week. No student activities may be scheduled.

May 4, Friday

Reading Day. No classes.

Last day for master's and doctoral degree applicants for graduation to return the final corrected copy of previously filed thesis or dissertation based on changes required by the graduate reader after the initial submission of the defended paper.

May 5 - 11  Saturday - Friday

Finals week.

May 11, Friday

Term ends.
