Welcome to the Teacher Education and Administration Department.  We were approved by the Texas Education Agency to begin functioning as an independent educator preparation program in January, 2012.  This is an exciting time for faculty, staff and students as we embark upon the journey of creating a program dedicated to the preparing students for successful careers as educators.  We invite both prospective and current students to visit our offices in Dallas 1. Department Chair Dr. Glenda Moss, has an office on the 2nd floor.

A major undertaking for the Education Program involves the Bilingual Educators for Students of Texas (BESTEX) Project, a Title III federal grant.  The program is designed to provide scholarships to undergraduate students who are pursuing a bachelor of science degree with teaching certification. The goal of this project is to help educate and graduate beginning educators to meet the shortage of teachers in bilingual, ESL, Mathematics 4-8, and Science 4-8. To obtain more information on BESTEX, please contact Dr. Eloisa Coy at 972-338-1319 or through her email: eloisa.coy@unt.edu.  To learn more about this exciting opportunity, please visit the BESTEX website at http://www.projectbestex.org/.

What students are saying

" I love this campus. It’s friendly and inviting, the class size is small, and everyone seems willing to help, even the professors."
