Nominations for the 2018 JAG Awards has closed.

Eligibility Criteria for each award:

  • Emerging Leader:
    • (1) demonstrate the potential to be a continued leader on the UNT Dallas campus;
    • (2) be involved in at least one campus organization recognized by the Office of Student Affairs;
    • (3) must be a new member in a student organization for less than 1 year; and (4) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Jaguar Legacy:
    • (1) be completing their undergraduate or graduate degree in 2017 (May, summer, December)
    • (2) have been involved in at least two campus organizations recognized by the Office of Student Affairs;
    • (3) have held an elected officer position in at least one campus organization for at least three months;
    • (4) have experience serving as a mentor to other students;
    • (5) demonstrate the potential to be a continued leader after graduation; and
    • (6) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Outstanding Student Organization President:
    • (1) have been the current president or officer of a similar standing of a student organization recognized by the Office of Student Affairs for more than one semester;
    • (2) demonstrate and share positive leadership skills to their student organization;
    • (3) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
    • (4) motivate individual members of the organization to impact the campus in a positive manner.
  • Outstanding Student Organization Advisor:
    • (1) have been the advisor of a student organization recognized by the Office of Student Affairs for at least one semester;
    • (2) be effective at motivating and encouraging the students of the organization;
    • (3) demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the students of the organization; and
    • (4) serve as a mentor and encourage achievement of organizational goals.
  • Outstanding SGA Member:
    • (1) have been the current officer or senator within Student Government Association for more than one semester;
    • (2) demonstrate and share positive leadership skills to SGA;
    • (3) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, and
    • (4) motivate individual members of SGA to impact the campus in a positive manner.
  • Outstanding Veteran:
    • (1) have been an active veteran at UNT Dallas for more than one semester;
    • (2) demonstrate and share positive leadership skills to the student body;
    • (3) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, and
    • (4) motivate individual veteran to impact the campus in a positive manner.
  • Outstanding Presidential Jaguar Scholar:
    • (1) be a current Presidential Jaguar Scholar at UNT Dallas for more than one semester;
    • (2) demonstrate and share positive leadership skills to the student body; 
    • (3) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.,
    • (4) motivate individual students to impact the campus in a positive manner, and
    • (5) have demonstrated involvement on campus through various opportunities (i.e. student orgs, community service, SGA, etc.)
  • Program of the Year:
    • (1) have been hosted by a student organization recognized by the Office of Student Affairs and not funded in full by Student Service Fees (funds awarded by Jagger's Den for events do not count against organization);
    • (2) have all appropriate paperwork for the event on file with the Office of the Office of Student Affairs;
    • (3) have been a program that demonstrated originality and innovation;
    • (4) have been effectively implemented and open to all students; and
    • (5) have significantly enhanced student life at UNT Dallas.
  • Student Organization of the Year:
    • (1) be a recognized student organization with the Office of Student Affairs for both Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters and have not directly received Student Service Fee funding as a main source of their operating costs (funds awarded by Jagger’s Den for events do not count against organization);
    • (2) show school spirit by attending programs sponsored by other organizations;
    • (3) have contributed significantly and positively to campus life through its programs, activities, and other organizational efforts; and
    • (4) have achieved its mission, as reflected in its purpose statement
  • Fraternity Man of the Year:
    • (1) be an active member of a fraternity recognized by the Office of Student Affairs;
    • (2) exemplify his fraternity' founding principles and demonstrate them in his everyday life;
    • (3) have contributed to the advancement of his fraternity and Greek Life and UNT Dallas; and
    • (4) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Sorority Woman of the Year:
    • (1) be a member of a sorority recognized by the Office of Student Affairs;
    • (2) exemplify her sorority' founding principles and demonstrate them in her everyday life;
    • (3) have contributed to the advancement of her sorority and Greek Life and UNT Dallas; and
    • (4) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Greek Organization of the Year:
    • (1) must be a recognized fraternity/sorority at UNT Dallas;
    • (2) have demonstrated how their organization's mission and values align with UNT Dallas values;
    • (3) promotes Greek Unity, involvement within the UNTD community, and positive experiences for its members,
    • (4) has had a significant impact on the quality of the student experience at UNT Dallas, and
    • (5) have at least a cumulative chapter GPA of 3.0.
  • Outstanding Freshman Award:
    • (1) must be a current first-year freshman;
    • (2) have demonstrated involvement on campus through organizations, programs through an academic department (i.e. Honors, Presidential Jaguar Scholars, AT&T Scholars, special projects), or on-campus employment;
    • (3) have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Outstanding Student Access & Success Professional: 
    • (1) be an employee in one of the following division areas: Academic Advising, Admissions, Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office, or Student Affairs
    • (2) demonstrate dedication to UNT Dallas students through quality work and service,
    • (3) contribute toward achieving the goals of their department/office, (4) display a positive attitude & commitment to the continual improvement or growth of their office, the division and the University.
  • Servant Leader Award:
    • (1) must be a current student
    • (2) have demonstrated involvement in the community as serving as a volunteer for a minimum of 30 hours;
    • (3) have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Aspiring Professional:
    • (1) be a senior graduating this semester;
    • (2) have completed an internship, practicum, or student teaching at some point for academic credit at UNT Dallas;
    • (3) have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Jaguar Community Impact Award:
    • (1) be a current graduate or undergraduate student;
    • (2) have completed some service or research in the community that has made a significant positive impact on the community.
    • (3) have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
