Event Location: 

The Cord & Ring Ceremony recognizes all students receiving a cord, stole, and/or class ring at UNT Dallas from a student organization, fraternity/sorority, community service, University Honors, etc. On the day of the event, students should check-in at the tables outside of FH 138. Check-in for the event will begin at 4:30PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30PM in the Courtyard. 

This is an outdoor event, please dress accordingly. The RSVP form is closed, please be sure to check-in at the station in FH 138 beginning at 4:30PM. Each student is allowed up to two guests.

Explanation of cords/stoles listed:

  • University Honors Stole – UNT Dallas recognizes the following Latin honors:

    • Cum Laude – 3.5-3.69 Overall GPA;

    • Magna Cum Laude – 3.7-3.89 Overall GPA;

    • Summa Cum Laude – 3.9-4.0 Overall GPA

  • University Staff Cords - for staff of the University

  • Presidential Jaguar Scholar Stole – for students who were participants in The Presidential Jaguar Scholars program, a four year academic merit based scholarship. Please contact Marcus Roberson for more information at
