Daniel Friesen joined the faculty in 2006 as assistant professor of business decision science and served as the school’s first director of the division of professional studies. He previously served as assistant professor at Midwestern State University and an assistant professor and department chair at Northeastern State University. Friesen earned his Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He earned his MBA and bachelor’s in chemical engineering from McNeese State University. His areas of expertise include business statistics, quantitative methods, optimization and information systems. He has a Microsoft Office User Specialist Certificate as an expert in Excel. He has held several officer positions in the Association of Business Information Systems, and he received the 2006 Distinguished Paper Award from the Association of Business Information Systems.
