Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Information Sciences at the University of North Texas at Dallas!

The Department of Mathematics and Information Sciences currently offers several bachelor degree programs, including:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics
  • Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with Secondary Teacher Certification
  • Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology

The department also offers minors in both Computer Science and Mathematics, which complement any bachelor program at UNT Dallas.

The Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics is designed to prepare graduates for careers paths as actuaries, cryptographers, market research analysts, or sports statisticians, among many other fields.*

The Bachelor of Arts with Secondary Teacher Certification is geared toward equipping graduates with the skills they will need to pursue careers as secondary school mathematics teachers, mathematics education consultants, or education administrators.*

The Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology is designed to prepare graduates for careers as software engineers, systems analysts, project managers, computer programmers, systems or network administrators, or database management administrators.*

The study of mathematics and information sciences helps students develop essential analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and problem solving skills. Small class sizes and a math lab staffed by faculty allow for significant individual attention for our students, and the Math Club and IT Student Association provide ample opportunities for students to interact with guest speakers and researchers and engage with their colleagues and faculty in extracurricular learning activities, competitions, and conferences.
