The School of Liberal Arts and Science hosted Public Health Day Friday, April 7, 2017. The event promoted the public health program and the meaningful career opportunities for graduates. More than 100 high school students from Dallas Independent School District were in attendance.

Students attended workshops focused on epidemiology, nutrition, and disease prevention, as well as a panel discussion featuring current public health students at UNT Dallas. Public health students from the UNT Health Science Center also volunteered their time to help make the day a success.

Public Health Day follows in the footsteps of Criminal Justice Day held in the fall. Students from area high schools and community colleges are invited to attend, as well as current UNT Dallas students. The morning session will begin in Founders Hall 138 and focus on what it’s like to work in public health. Later in the day participants can attend a panel discussion over lunch, and an afternoon session focused on public health research.
