Perry to Discuss Issues About the Youth in Education

(February 21, 2018) - The University of North Texas at Dallas will host Dr. Steve Perry, one of America’s most sought after educators, at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 in Founders Hall 138. Dr. Perry’s message will focus on the education issues surrounding today’s youth and what society can do to fix them. The event is open to the public.

A man of many accomplishments, Dr. Perry’s unique and powerful voice is well respected and has been featured on MSNBC, Fox, CNN, Al Jazeera, TV One, BET, NBC, and the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Dr. Perry founded Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, Conn, a school U.S. News and World Report has cited as one of the top schools in the country. Capital Prep has sent 100 percent of its predominantly low-income, minority, first-generation high school graduates to four-year colleges every year since its first class graduated in 2006. Dr. Perry is also an accomplished author of two successful and inspiring books: Man Up and Push Has Come to Shove: Getting Our Kids the Education They Deserve.
