Faculty and staff at the University of North Texas at Dallas gained clarity regarding the university’s finances and resource allocation Thursday, December 17 at the first of several workshops hosted by the Office of Finance and Administration.

Dr. Dan Edelman, C.P.A. and chief financial officer of UNT Dallas, led the 90-minute workshop. The workshop was well attended and covered topics including revenue streams, the basics of formula funding, types of funds, state and federal appropriations, and current issues facing higher education in regards to finance.

The goal of the workshop series is to better inform UNT Dallas faculty and staff about the budget process, and to instill transparency in the within the university’s financial planning process. Future workshops will detail formula funding and the budget process.

“UNT Dallas exists to empower students, transform lives and strengthen our community,” Edelman said. “It’s my hope that these workshops help the university community make wise financial decisions that make that possible for years to come.”
