The University of North Texas at Dallas will add an online certificate program in dealership management to its course offerings this spring, beginning March 20, 2017.

“Franchised and independent dealerships employ over one million Americans,” said Dr. Karen Shumway, Dean of the School of Business. “This program is designed to improve career opportunities for current dealership managers and to help those in non-management positions transition into management roles.”

Enrollees must complete and pass seven courses to receive a certificate. Courses will be taught by academically-qualified instructors with real-world dealership experience including new adjunct faculty member, Steve Brazill.

“This is a versatile program,” Shumway added. “While it’s based on operations typical to a new car dealership, many related industries use almost identical business models—so it’s also applicable to heavy duty truck dealers, independent auto dealers, agricultural equipment dealers, independent repair operators, recreational vehicle dealers, motorcycle/power sports dealers, boat dealers and so on.”
