The University of North Texas at Dallas submitted its first Upward Bound (UB) application November 28, 2016.  UNT Dallas requested funding of $1.2 million from the U. S. Department of Education to begin an Upward Bound (UB) Project for a five-year period. The program would serve 60 eligible 9th – 12th grade students each year.

The UNT Dallas UB Project will encourage low-income and potential first-generation college students to complete secondary school; enroll in postsecondary education; and publicize the availability of, and facilitate the application for, student financial assistance for persons who seek to pursue postsecondary education or complete these programs.  The Principal Investigator for the Upward Bound Project is Dr. John Gasko, Dean of the School of Education.
