The University of North Texas at Dallas hosted the “Employee Appreciation Day” event recently, giving administration, faculty and staff a chance to unwind and interact amongst each other.

“I think the staff enjoys it,” said Academic Advisor/Staff Council President, Daron Lee. “This is something that we need here because it gives us a few hours during a workday and spend time with co-workers.”

The event included a free lunch buffet, raffle drawings for prizes, an ice cream truck, music and board games.

“It’s a lot of times where we just sit in our office and we want to get out of that habit and meet each other,” added Lee. “We’re too much of a small, close knit campus for us not to even know who’s in the building next to us. I think this is a great way to have some fun and relax.”

Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions, Shaniece Miller, echoed Lee’s statements about this event being so beneficial towards buildings relationships throughout the campus.

“We want to appreciate everybody who works here at UNT Dallas because everyone plays a huge role in the development of our campus. Whether you’re in admissions or a professor, everyone’s dedication to UNT Dallas is greatly appreciated on so many levels. Today has just been an awesome time for everybody to come together and enjoy each other’s company.”
