The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well on the UNT Dallas campus. With the help of the Honorable Michael Williams, UNT Dallas’ Distinguished Leader-in-Residence and former TEA Commissioner, opportunities for entrepreneurship will continue to increase on campus and in the community.

One of Williams’ current entrepreneurship projects is the MegaFest partnership with Bishop T.D. Jakes and The Potter’s House. UNT Dallas will operate the Entrepreneur Slam contest for 11 to 19 year olds. Up to $50,000 in scholarships will be handed out at the event. UNT Dallas President Bob Mong will serve as a judge.

In addition to MegaFest, the university has created an Entrepreneurs Umbrella to keep track of all our efforts in this area of encouraging young people to have more of an entrepreneurial “state of mind.” This includes a recent "state of entrepreneurism" event June 15, 2017 organized by the Dallas Regional Chamber, with Michael Williams serving as the master of ceremonies.

The university also recently partnered with Tim and Terrence Maiden their Elevate Leadership Academy targeting male high school students from Dallas and surrounding communities.
