Mirna Reyes was awarded the NABE 2015 Bilingual Teacher Scholarship at the recent National Association of Bilingual Educators (NABE) Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Ms. Reyes is currently seeking bilingual teacher certification with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies. 

Ms. Reyes is an active member of the Bilingual/ESL Education Students Organization (BESO) and served as BESO President for the 2013-2014 academic school year.  She also co-authored a book review on applied linguistics with Dr. Marco Shappeck.  The book review for Applied Linguistics and Materials Development will be published in the next edition of The Modern Language Journal.

Ms. Reyes is a strong supporter of dual language programs.  She is committed to becoming a bilingual teacher and helping her students to attain their academic goals.  Ms. Reyes will graduate in May and plans to begin her bilingual teaching career in August 2015.
