Dr. Monica G. Williams serves as UNT Dallas Vice President for Advancement and President of the UNT Dallas Foundation. In her role, Dr. Williams oversees fundraising, marketing and communications, external relations, sponsored research and special events. She has devoted her career to raising funds for higher education, social services and international humanitarian relief. Hired after a national search in 2016, Dr. Williams works closely with UNT Dallas executive leadership to raise funds and secure federal grants that will help strengthen the most comprehensive and affordable university choice in Dallas. Before joining UNT Dallas, Dr. Williams was Founding Managing Director of Community Partnerships for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and had distinguished careers at Texas Southern, Prairie View A&M and Rice universities. She began her career as a teacher in the Houston Independent School District. A recent graduate of the American Association of State Colleges and University Millennium Leadership Initiative, Dr. Williams is also a member of Leadership Texas, the country’s oldest women’s leadership program. Dr. Williams received a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M, and an M.A. and B.A. from Texas Southern. In 2011, Dr. Williams was named Top 25 Women of Houston. She also co-chaired the United Way Capital Campaign in Houston in 2002. She was born in southern Dallas and attended Kimball High School until her family relocated to Houston. Dr. Williams is married to Eric D. Davis and is a proud mother and grandmother.
