After years of traveling the world and serving his country bravely in the U.S. Navy, Ed made the brave choice to pursue a new mission-a college education. At UNT Dallas, he found a support system of faculty, staff, students, and fellow veterans who have eased his transition into college life, putting his goal of working with at-risk kids within reach.

“I love working with at-risk kids, people and being able to help out my fellow military veterans who are dealing with psychological problems. I’ve dealt firsthand with post-traumatic stress disorder, and I know how important it is to feel supported. I know these kids are screaming for help, and I want to use my psychology degree to help create lasting change in their lives. I want to be the person they can count on, the one they know will listen. I want them to know someone believes in them, and wants to see them succeed.”
