Attending UNT Dallas has broadened my perspective toward police work. This program is equipping me with the scholastic tools I need to better serve the community in which I grew up.

Tramese Andrews is no stranger to facing challenges and answering the call. As an active duty Dallas police officer and full-time graduate student in UNT Dallas’ Public Leadership program, Andrews is confident the knowledge she’s gaining in this graduate program will prepare her for ascension through the ranks as a police officer and in life.

“I chose UNT Dallas because it is the first public university in the City of Dallas. As a Dallas native, this played an important role in deciding where to complete my graduate studies.  In fact, many of my classmates were also reared in Dallas, creating a family-style atmosphere and creating an academic bond. Dr. Larry Terry is very encouraging, kindly reminding us that the temporary pain of completing a class is nothing compared to the pain we will feel later if we quit.

Attending UNT Dallas has broadened my perspective toward police work. This program is equipping me with the scholastic tools I need to better serve the community in which I grew up.  The classroom work, coupled with the service projects, is a perfect combination for this public service-based degree plan.  I had high hopes coming to UNT Dallas, and the program is going above and beyond my expectations.”
