North Texas Giving Day is an online giving event for people across the nation (and the world!) to come together to raise as much money as possible for North Texas nonprofits on one day: September 14, 2017. In eight years, North Texas Giving Day has pumped more than $155 million into the North Texas community. In 2016, $37 million was raised through more than 142,000 gifts benefiting 2,518 nonprofits.

This is a great way to raise institutional awareness and funds for student support at UNT Dallas.  It also helps us build our culture of giving to UNT Dallas through North Texas Giving Day each year.

Gifts to North Texas Giving Day are charitable donations.  Giving is encouraged but certainly not mandatory. There is no minimum gift, so any amount you give is solely at your discretion. The most important statistic is our participation percentage. When we go out to ask corporations, foundations and individuals to invest in UNT Dallas, it is vital to our credibility that we can tell these potential donors that we personally support the organization we are asking them to support. Ideally, we will reach 100 percent participation, but it will take each one of us to get there.

To give to UNT Dallas, please visit https://northtexasgivingday.org/npo/unt-dallas-foundation. You can schedule a gift ahead of time, or give the day of from 6:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on September 14 through the UNT Dallas Foundation.

Also, anyone may participate in this endeavor, not only for UNT Dallas but for many great North Texas charities. I encourage you to invite those in your respective networks to participate as well. All gifts directed to UNT Dallas will support much-needed student scholarships.

Thank you for your consideration and for all that you are doing. I hope this will be the start of something great for our student scholarship program!
