UNT Dallas has partnered with Eastfield College to offer a summer bridge program to help students prepare for the rigor of college work.   Students will begin their college journey in supportive, specially designed college credit courses.  The focus is to increase a student’s level of college readiness and awareness through personalized support, professors who are motivated by student success, and lasting educational bonds with other students and program support staff.

Objective of the Program

For recently denied students, JGP provides an additional pathway to become admitted to UNT Dallas.  Upon successful completion of JGP as stated below, the student will be conditionally admitted for the fall term.

The facts…

JGP is a 6-week program beginning held on the campus of UNT Dallas.  Students will enroll in 9 college credit hours:

  • ENGL 1301 – English Composition I (3 credit hours)
  • MATH 1314 – College Algebra (3 credit hours)
  • 3 non-credit based courses that support learning, growth, and transition to college

A grade of C or higher in English 1301 and MATH 1314 will be considered successful completion of the Jaguar Gateway Program and be applied to your academic program at UNT Dallas and most other colleges and universities.  Admissions, registration, and course selection responsibility is shared by the student and the dedicated JGP staff.
