At a time when many universities are faced with declining enrollment, the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) continues to grow. Recently released statistics for Spring 2021 enrollment show that the university’s total enrollment grew 6% breaking all spring enrollment records at UNT Dallas.

Overall, undergraduate students had significant growth of 7%. The School of Business saw the greatest increase of the schools with enrollment up 8%. Much of their growth came from the Business Analytics and Finance programs. The School of Arts and Liberal Sciences increased their credit hours by 7%. The College of Law grew 5% and the Schools of Education grew 2%.

“Not only are we experiencing record growth and retention of our current undergraduate and College of Law student populations, but we are also seeing large growth in our new transfer and new graduate populations. I’m so grateful to these groups for their incredible efforts,” said Stephanie Holley, Vice President of Student Access and Success.

New undergraduate transfers increased by 28% and new graduate enrollment grew 70%.

UNT Dallas has focused on serving local underserved populations, concentrating recruiting efforts in southern Dallas communities. The student population is around 85% minority, and most are first generation college students.

Over the course of the pandemic, the university has made a great effort to keep students engaged and connected through regular communication and a variety of virtual activities. They have also provided technology for students who need assistance, including laptops and hotspots for online learning. The university is committed to keeping higher education affordable and offers the lowest tuition rates in the region.
