Substance Abuse Certificate Licensure Disclosure

The Substance Abuse Certificate Program at University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD) meets academic requirements for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) credential issued by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Regulatory Services Division. Students should be aware that licensure standards may include additional requirements to become provisionally and/or fully licensed. All candidates seeking state licensure are subject to background screenings and fingerprinting checks. Licensure requirements vary from state to state and are subject to change.

UNTD has not made a determination whether this program will meet the academic requirements of all other US states and territories. Students interested in this certificate program who plan to seek licensure outside the state of Texas should contact the appropriate licensing agency or board before they enroll in an academic program designed to lead to licensure and discuss their plans with an advisor
