Success Coaching

What is Success Coaching with Dallas Promise?

Dallas Promise Success Coaches provide personalized, student-centered support to help scholars successfully navigate their college journey from enrollment through graduation. Coaches build meaningful relationships with students, creating a safe and welcoming space where they feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Using the LIFT coaching model, Success Coaches proactively partner with students to define goals and dismantle academic, financial, and personal barriers. Coaches serve as advocates and guides, connecting students to vital campus resources and building the confidence needed to navigate university life.

As part of a coordinated, university-wide support model, Success Coaches work collaboratively across departments to ensure students experience a seamless pathway to success—preparing them not only to persist and graduate, but to transition into meaningful careers that support long-term socioeconomic mobility.

What Can You Work On

Every student’s journey is different—and your Success Coach is here to meet you where you are. Together, you’ll build a partnership focused on your goals, your strengths, and the support you need to succeed.

Throughout the academic year, your coach will work with you to develop key skills and connect you to resources that support your success both inside and outside the classroom. In the fall, we focus on building a strong foundation for your college experience. In the spring, we build on those skills while preparing you for what’s next—whether that’s career exploration, experiential learning, study abroad, or graduate school.
