Biography

Robert Tinajero is Associate Professor of English/Rhetoric and Program Coordinator for the English and Writing Program. He helped design the Applied English program and the minor in Rhetoric and Writing Studies. His Ph.D. is in Rhetoric and Writing Studies from UT-El Paso and he has a Master's degree in Creative Writing from the University of Houston, a Master's degree in Theological Studies from Southern Methodist University, and a BA in English and Religion from Austin College.

His research interests include Hip Hop rhetoric, Critical Race Theory, and the history of composition studies in the United States from 1900-Present. He teaches a number of course connected to writing, rhetoric, and culture, and has published various academic articles and two books of poetry.
