College students are always on the go, which means a healthy diet can often take a backseat to convenience. Understanding that a nutritional diet can lead to greater success in the classroom, UNT Dallas and the North Texas Food Bank have teamed up to present the "Feed Your Body, Fuel Your Brain" campaign.

On the first Tuesday of each month, starting February 4, a North Texas Food Bank truck will park near the Student Center and hand out sacks of free fruit and produce to students, faculty and staff, and community members.

The goal is to help keep the body and the brain functioning at peak performance. A rotating selection of fruits and vegetables will be offered each month. UNT Dallas will also provide websites and phone apps that offer cooking tips and easy recipes to use at home.

“UNT Dallas is always seeking new ways to provide our students with every resource possible to ensure their success, and that includes good nutrition," said Dr. Jamaica Chapple, Associate Vice President of Student Access and Success, and Dean of Students. "College students are busy, and finding time to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables, and prepare them, is challenging. We are pleased to partner with the North Texas Food Bank to deliver free wholesome foods to our students, as well as faculty, staff and community members, right here on campus.”
