All new undergraduate students are required to attend a New Student Orientation (NSO). NSO focuses on your needs and prepares you to be a UNT Dallas Trailblazer. NSO sessions will be offered both in-person and virtual. You will also have to complete online modules in order to fulfill your orientation requirement.
For more information about the orientation requirements, visit the NSO page for your student experience.
All first-year and transfer students coming into the University of North Texas at Dallas must have satisfied the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) assessment requirement before setting an appointment with advising and registering for classes. Your registration could possibly be delayed if your TSI status cannot be determined before your advising and registration appointment.
Note: Before attending new student orientation or meeting with your academic advisor, your TSIA hold must be removed, by either testing for TSI or being exempt. If you are exempt from the TSI please complete the TSI Assessment Exemption Form and return it to Testing Services at UNT Dallas. For additional assistance contact Testing@untdallas.edu or call 972-338-1769.
UNT Dallas requires new students to meet with their Academic Advisor prior to registering for courses.
Work with the Academic Advising team to coordinate your advising appointment and course registration. You may have to sign up for a placement test or meet other TSI requirements before scheduling an opportunity to meet with academic advising to get registered. You can reach out directly to advising@untdallas.edu or chat with them here.
Our peer coaches will assist you with scheduling all of your academic needs.
Spring 2025 registration appointments will be shared soon. Sign up early to take advance of the following:
- Course availability
- Optional time slots available
