Applying for Housing
Requirements to Apply
- Be fully admitted and accepted to the university
- Be enrolled full time, with at least 12 credit hours, excluding summer
- Have a required Meal Plan
- Have Renters Insurance
- Pay a $100 non-refundable application fee
- Be under the age of 25 throughout the housing contract period

Housing is limited. Students are encouraged to apply early. Once rooms are full, students will be placed on a waiting list.

Housing Assignment Notification
Students who secure housing will receive their room and suite assignment, along with roommate or suitemate contact information.

Housing Waitlist Information
The waitlist includes students who applied, meet the criteria for living on campus and have not secured a housing assignment. Waitlist position may change based on application date, distance from campus and other factors.

Renter’s Insurance
Renter’s Insurance is required. UNT Dallas is not responsible for residents’ personal property, and residents may be charged for damage they cause to Housing property. See the UNT Dallas Housing Handbook for requirements.
Students may select any qualified provider. GradGuard is one available option. Contact the provider for current coverage, pricing, limitations, and exclusions.
On-Campus Housing Accommodations
Students with a disability or medical need may request Housing accommodations, such as an accessible room, modified furniture, or assistive technology. Housing and Residence Life works with the Office of Disability Services to review requests.
Visit the Office of Disability Services to request accommodations. Apply as early as possible and review the Housing application deadlines.
