Tuition Adjustments

Drop and Withdrawal Reference

Please Note: Dropping and withdrawing are two different actions and refund schedules are NOT similar.  The semester's first class day is always the official university start of term, not the first day of an individual's class.

  • A drop is when a student drops a course but remains enrolled in at least one course in the same session.
  • A withdrawal is when a student drops all courses in an academic session even if they are enrolled in another session.

If a student drops a course/courses before the census date, their tuition may be adjusted.

Return of financial aid after Drop/Withdrawal

If you drop classes or withdraw from the semester, you may be required to return all or a portion of the financial aid that you accepted.  This situation could result in you owing funds to UNT Dallas, the government, or both. If you are a financial aid recipient, please contact the Financial Aid & Scholarships office to discuss the financial aid impact of dropping from courses or withdrawing from all sessions.

If you are considering withdrawal from UNT Dallas, please contact your Academics Advisor and a Financial Aid counselor so your decision will be based on a clear understanding of the consequences of withdrawing from all courses.
