SNAP & Community Resources

SNAP

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget so they can afford the nutritious food essential to health and well-being. Certain foods may even be accessed for free! Check your eligibility: Income Guidelines

CHIP

CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) helps children who's families cannot qualify for Medicaid nor can they afford insurance. Check options for different plans: Choosing a Health Plan.

TANF

TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) provides cash assistance for families with children under 18. Financial assistance can be sued for food, clothing, housing, transportation, and other basic needs. Check your eligibility: TANF Cash Help

Healthy Texas Women Program

Healthy Texas Women Program is dedicated to offering women’s health and family planning services at no cost to eligible women in Texas. This care helps women plan their families, whether they seek to achieve, postpone, or prevent pregnancy. It also can have a positive effect on future pregnancy planning and general health. Monthly Mobile Distributions

CLICK HERE FOR OUR NEXT MONTHLY DISTRIBUTION

UNT Dallas, in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, hosts Monthly Mobile Distributions, offering up to 60 lbs. of nutritious food, including fresh produce, to the community. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the third Friday of each month, excluding August and November, and is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

Upcoming Distribution Dates for Fall 2025:

  • Saturday, November 22, 2025
  • Friday, December 19, 2025

 

Community resources are available across the region this holiday weekend, including mobile food distributions and local food pantries to help families access essential support.
