The University of North Texas at Dallas will offer an optional guaranteed tuition and mandatory fee plan for new incoming freshmen students and transfer students with 90 or less transfer credit hours.
The fixed tuition plan offers students the opportunity to lock in their tuition rate, for a maximum of five years, instead of paying the regular tuition rate, which is subject to increase annually. The FOCUS Fixed Tuition Plan helps students and their families plan for the cost of a college education. The plan also provides an incentive for students to earn a degree in a timely manner.
Example:
Texas Resident taking 15 hours on the Traditional Plan (subject to go up each year)
$3,919.65 tuition + $875.00 mandatory fees = $4,794.65 per semester
Texas Resident taking 15 hours on the Focus Fixed Tuition Plan (fees are subject to
increase but not tuition)
$4,173.30 tuition + $875 mandatory fees = $5,048.30 per semester
Yearly rate Traditional: $9,589.30
Yearly rate Focus Fixed: $10,096.60
Currently the Focus plan is $507.30 per year more than the Traditional plan

How do I determine if the Focus Fixed Tuition Plan is right for me?
Factors that you may consider when choosing the FOCUS Fixed Tuition Plan are:
- Do you plan to enroll as a full-time student and complete a minimum of 30 hours per year?
- How much value do you place on having a guaranteed tuition payment each year?
- How important is it to you to graduate in 4 years or less and start your career?
Yes. You may opt out of the plan in any future semester. However, once you opt-out you may not select the option again.
No. In order to remain eligible for the plan, you must enroll as a full-time student in consecutive academic years (Fall and Spring semesters), complete 30 credit hours within a 12 month period and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. If you do not meet one or more of the eligibility requirements, you will be charged the traditional tuition and fee rates in future semesters.
