What are Waivers and Exemptions?
Waivers allow certain nonresident students to pay the Texas resident tuition rate.
Exemptions are a type of financial assistance allowing some Texas residents to attend a public college or university in Texas without paying tuition or, in some cases, tuition and fees.
Please note: Exemptions are not considered payment under state payment guidelines. A student who does not yet have the exemption applied to their account may still be subject to cancellation if they fail to meet the state payment requirements.

UNTD Requirement: SBS must receive certification of the eligibility of the business and a letter of intent to establish residency. More information about this waiver can be found here.
UNTD Requirement: SBS must receive notification from UNTD Registrar Office of eligible students. More information about this waiver can be found here.
UNTD Requirement: Students using TTF/TGTP funds will be billed the in-state tuition rate. SBS must receive a copy of Texas Tomorrow Fund/Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan card.
UNTD Requirement: SBS must receive certificate of eligibility from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. This exemption includes Peace Officers, Game Wardens and Employees of Correctional Institutions. More information about this exemption can be found here. UNTD Requirement: SBS must receive a completed application and written proof of eligibility from the Nursing department through which the Preceptor has an agreement. More information about this exemption can be found here.
