The Dr. Emmett J. Conrad Leadership Program is managed at the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas). Our team can be found in the Student Center, Student Affairs Office - Suite 2108.
No, anyone who meets the eligbility requirements can apply to the program. No affiliation to UNT Dallas is required to apply or participate.
If accepted into the program, a Conrad scholar must attend and participate in one service learning project and all professional development sessions to be considered for scholarships and awards as well as remain in good standing with the program. Students who do not participate in the program’s events are not permitted to reapply.
No, first priority is given to District 23 college students but the opportunity is open to any eligible applicant with a state of Texas mailing address.
The Conrad Program is open to all eligible 4-Year college students, regardless of major or field of study.
There are no fees for students to be considered for or participate in the program. Students earn salaries from their employers during the summer internships.
No, participation is limited to students attending four-year colleges.
No, participation is limited to students classified as freshmen, sophmores, juniors and seniors eligible to graduate in the Fall.

Internship sponsors offer 6 to 8 week internships starting May or June and ending in August. The option to extend your internship experience is at the internship partners discretion.
Students can can work full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (20 - 30 hours per week).
Internship sponsors pay students directly using the method of pay preffered by the entity. Employers pay students hourly or through a stipend disbursed to students monthly or at specific points during the internship experience. The program recommends a minimum wage pay of $15 per hour.
