Are you interested in learning professional strategies for resolving family or workplace disputes, or negotiation strategies in your industry or community? The Mediation Certificate at UNT Dallas will prepare you to become a successful, professionally licensed mediator.

Our program contains small class sizes, flexible schedules and hands-on faculty. Admission is ongoing and you can apply up to the first day of classes. All credits earned are transferrable to a bachelor's program from the School of Behavior Health and Human Services.

The 15 credit hour program is offered in an accelerated, 100% online, 8-week format. It is open to both Texas residents and non-resident students. Courses are taught at the undergraduate level.

Application Requirements

  • Complete an undergraduate application
  • Be at least 18-years old
  • Complete a writing sample which includes:
    • Describe your interest in pursuing a mediation certificate
    • Describe your career plans
    • Describe your plans for professional contribution to the mediation field

Successful completion of the mediation certificate requires students to obtain at least a “C” or better in all courses and maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or better. Students obtaining scores lower than a “C” are required to repeat the coursework until the required GPA is achieved.
