Move Out Information

Fall Closing

Wisdom Hall closes Saturday, December 12, 2026 at Noon. (See Spring Closing)

Residents returning for the Spring Semester may leave their belongings in their assigned room but should take clothing, medications, and other personal items needed during the break. Housing Staff will review closing requirements during the November Floor Meeting.

Residents Not Returning for Spring

Residents who are not returning must move out by the posted closing date.

Complete the following steps to avoid additional charges:

  • Email a Professional Housing Staff Member by Friday, December 18, 2026, at 5 p.m. to cancel your Housing Contract.
  • Remove all personal belongings and trash.
  • Complete and sign the Closing Checklist.
  • Return all room and mailbox keys to your Resident Assistant, the Front Desk, or the Express Checkout Box.
  • Leave Wisdom Hall before the building closes.
  • Forward your mail and cancel your Renter’s Insurance.

An incomplete checkout may result in a $75 Improper Checkout Fee and other applicable charges.

Residents Returning for Spring

  1. Complete and sign the Closing Checklist.
  2. Leave Wisdom Hall before the building closes.

Failure to complete the Closing Checklist or leave before closing may result in a $75 Improper Checkout Fee and other applicable charges.

Winter Room Inspections

After residents leave, Housing Staff will inspect rooms for cleanliness, Fire and Life Safety concerns, Housing violations, and incomplete Closing Checklist items. Violations may result in an Incident Report, a $75 Improper Checkout Fee, or other charges.

Only Professional Housing Staff may assess or approve damage and cleaning charges. Resident Assistants and other Student Staff cannot assess charges. Students will be notified of any charges added to their Student Account.

Spring Closing

Wisdom Hall closes Saturday, May 8, 2027 at Noon. Resident access ends at closing, and residents may not return to the building afterward.

Spring Move Out Checklist

  • Clean your room and bathroom.
  • Remove all trash and personal belongings.
  • Complete and sign the Closing Checklist.
  • Return your room and mailbox keys in the provided envelope.
  • Seal and submit the key envelope at the Front Desk or the Express Checkout Box.
  • Forward your mail. Housing Staff cannot hold mail after closing.
  • Cancel your Renter’s Insurance if you are not returning for the next Academic Year.

A checkout appointment with your Resident Assistant is optional.

Room Inspections and Charges

Housing Staff will inspect each room for cleanliness and damage after the building closes. Students will receive an email about any cleaning or damage charges. Charges will be added to the Student Account within 30 business days of closing.
