Meijken Westenskow is the Assistant Director of Academic Success and Bar Readiness and Professor of Practice effective Spring 2018, teaching Fundamentals and Legal Methods. Professor Westenskow graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Development from Brigham Young University in 2001 and with a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2005. At Georgetown, Professor Westenskow served as a legal writing teaching fellow and worked in the International Women’s Human Rights Clinic.
Following graduation, Professor Westenskow worked for the Board of Veterans Appeal and as a contract attorney for Orbitz. In 2009, Professor Westenskow joined Mosaic Family Services in Dallas, an agency that provides free legal services to survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. As a staff attorney, Professor Westenskow represented hundreds of clients in family and immigration proceedings. In 2011, Professor Westenskow became Mosaic’s Legal Program Director and managed the program until she joined the UNT faculty in March 2018.
