Why UNT Dallas College of Law?

UNT Dallas College of Law offers affordable, practice-ready legal education that supports access to the profession and meets the needs of a growing legal community. As Dallas’ public law school, we provide students with an education grounded in applied learning, professional preparation and connection to the region’s courts, firms, agencies and organizations.

Our location in the downtown Dallas places students within steps of key institutions. This proximity supports meaningful engagement with attorneys, judges and legal professionals across a broad range of practice areas.

Mission-Driven Education

UNT Dallas College of Law was founded with a mission to expand access to legal education and contribute to the legal needs of Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and Texas. Our curriculum emphasizes preparation through hands-on experiences that help students develop the skills necessary for success in law firms, corporate legal departments, courts, public agencies and other professional settings.

Students learn the foundations of legal practice through writing, advocacy, research and professional development courses that emphasize readiness for the workplace.

Practice-Ready Learning

Experiential learning is integrated throughout the program. Students participate in clinics, externships and simulation-based coursework that bridge academic study with the realities of legal work.

Through these opportunities, students gain experience in areas such as legal research, client communication, case analysis and problem-solving. This applied approach prepares graduates to enter the profession with confidence and a clear understanding of professional expectations.

A Growing Network and Regional Impact

Graduates contribute to the legal profession across the Dallas-Fort Worth region and the state. Alumni work in law firms, corporate legal departments, government offices, courts and nonprofit organizations. UNT Dallas College of Law continues to expand partnerships with employers, supporting a strong network for students and graduates.
