Adriana Perez is a sophomore at UNT Dallas. Her academic focus is Finance with a specialization in investments. After completing her bachelor's degree, she plan to pursue a master's and doctorate in Finance. Her grandfather's political background in El Salvador has been a profound source of inspiration for her and motivation to join the Student Government Association (SGA). She is excited about the opportunity to connect with her peers and administration, and to give back to the community that has supported her.
Angelica Navarro is a first-generation student born and raised in Oak Cliff. She holds an Associate of Arts degree from Dallas College and is dedicated to furthering her education by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with minors in criminal justice and Spanish. As the first trailblazer in her family, her goal is to motivate and blaze the trail for others to follow. She is passionate about providing guidance and support to young individuals and aiding them in making informed and positive life decisions that will positively and meaningfully shape their future. Driven by her commitment to what truly ignites her passion and embracing hope and love for those around her, she is excited to explore new opportunities and form new connections on campus.
Hayden Wochele serves as the Transfer Student Body Senator of the Student Government Association at the University Of North Texas At Dallas from Navarro College! Fall 2024 is his first semester at UNTD, and he is an undergraduate political science major in his Junior year. He was motivated to join this inspiring organization and represent his fellow students. From the first time he stepped foot in a food pantry, he is passionately and diligently dedicated to volunteerism/community service. He leads with his mission of creating lasting, positive change that spreads happiness, compassion, and prosperity for everybody!
Joseph Ante is an accomplished author known for his captivating storytelling and insightful narratives that resonate with readers worldwide. Residing in Texas, his diverse cultural experiences significantly influence his writing, drawing inspiration from the intricacies of everyday life. Alongside his literary career, Joseph served as a Human Resources Sergeant in the U.S. Army and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. These experiences deepen his understanding of human resilience and relationships, enriching his stories with authenticity and depth. When not writing or studying, Joseph enjoys traveling and driving, believing that life's experiences fuel his creative well.
Ashley Renteria is a senior from Fort Worth who graduated from an early-college high school with an Associate of Arts degree. Currently majoring in Finance, Ashley aims to enter the banking industry and is deeply committed to advocacy work. As the secretary of LULAC, an active member of the Student Government Association, and a participant in Trailblazer Elite—an organization for first-generation students— Ashley is dedicated to community service and empowerment. In the future, she plans to offer financial literacy classes to underserved populations, blending her financial expertise with a passion for supporting and uplifting the community. Ashley's passion for service is what fueled her interest and motivation to join student government and is what empowers her to make a difference.
Joshua Garcia serves as the School of Business Senator in the UNT Dallas Student Government Association. As a first-generation college student and member of the Hispanic community, Joshua is dedicated to advocating for his peers and ensuring that student voices are represented. Currently in his freshman year, majoring in General Business, Joshua is focused on improving the student experience within the School of Business by collaborating with faculty, administration, and fellow students. He is committed to ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed. Joshua welcomes any concerns, ideas, or feedback from his peers and is always ready to help.

Alexis U. Garcia Tafoya is a first-generation student from Mesquite. Alexis is currently a graduate student in UNT Dallas' Master of Business Administration program. In 2021, Alexis earned a bachelor's degree in information technology with a business administration minor from UNT Dallas. Alexis obtained professional experience as a mobile app developer and research analyst for the Texas Division of Emergency Management. Alexis is a Dr. Emmitt J. Conrad Scholar and a member of the Trailblazers Ambassador program. Alexis is passionate about community involvement and mentoring. At UNT Dallas, Alexis is a Peer Success Coach who helps first-generation, freshman, and transfer students as they navigate their academic journeys by drawing on his experiences and skills. Driven by a deep passion for supporting students, Alexis believes in leading by example—encouraging his students to get involved and pursue their goals, just as he actively engages in mentorship, volunteering, and continuous learning.
Bettsy Grimaldo is a first- generation college student whose main goal in life is to make others smile. Her compassion for helping those around her has always pushed her to be the best version of herself. As a young Mexican-American woman she knows the struggles of adapting to a new environment and wants to ensure that her peers won’t have to face that same struggle. This year, she plans to work as a leader for her respected student body by joining the SGA in creating a welcoming environment for all, especially for her freshman class. With a passion for true crime and theater, Bettsy plans on pursing a career in the legal field with hopes of one day supporting students who have chosen the same path as her. In her free time, Bettsy enjoys watching true crime shows, listening to music, studying, and hanging out with friends. Paul Mascorro is a dedicated junior at UNT Dallas, majoring in political science. He is a first-generation student who has achieved significant milestones including earning an Associates of Science degree from Dallas College in the spring of 2024. Paul is an active member of Trailblazer Elite as well as the Greater Texas Foundation Blazer Scholars Program, which supports his academic and professional progress. Paul is enthusiastic about meeting new people and championing the causes of the people in his community.
Julisa Morones Luna is a dedicated first-generation college student from Austin Texas, currently a freshman at UNT Dallas, majoring in Justice and Social Policy with a minor in Political Science. With certifications in Paralegal studies and Civil and Family Mediation, her passion for law drives her to engage with various organizations to raise awareness about pressing societal issues and advocate for solutions. As a member of the Student Government Association, the Pre Law Society, Trailblazer Elite, and on the leadership board as vice chair for Trailblazer Elite she is dedicated to community service events. Her experiences have fueled her commitment to tackle unresolved problems, and once she sets her mind on a goal, she pursues it with unwavering determination and enthusiasm.
