Dean's Welcome

Downtown Dallas skyline

Welcome to the UNT Dallas School of Business!

The success of the School of Business is due to our dedicated faculty and staff who share the university’s values and vision to prepare our students to make a difference in the 21st century. Teaching comes first at UNT Dallas.

Class sizes are intimate for a personal touch and nearly all of our classes are taught by faculty members -- professors who are successful practitioners in their field – and not graduate assistants. You will learn from experts who are shaping the business world and demonstrating how the latest knowledge and techniques are used and applied.

The School of Business believes in hands-on learning, which is why we layer classroom work with experiential learning opportunities and sought-after professional certifications. Our students don’t just gain book knowledge when studying business at UNT Dallas, they gain valuable, practical business experience through internships and projects that tackle real-life business issues.

Finally, the School of Business works with employers to place students in their chosen fields, whether it’s traditional professions such as accounting and human resources, or fast-growing employment sectors like logistics and supply chain management.

Please make plans to visit the UNT Dallas campus and come meet me and our wonderful School of Business faculty, staff and current students – and see for yourself how UNT Dallas can put you on a path to Blaze Your Trail!

Sincerely,

Karen Shumway, Ph.D.

Dean, School of Business
