UNT Dallas College of Law is Dallas’ public law school, offering affordable, practice-ready legal education that expands access to the profession. We prepare students for roles across the legal field, including law firms, corporate legal departments, courts, government agencies and other professional settings.
UNT Dallas College of Law does not charge an application fee. Applicants are encouraged to apply early and submit all required materials through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).

Applying to UNT Dallas College of Law
All applicants must apply through Law School Admission Council (LSAC).
A complete application includes:
- Completed online application
- LSAC Credential Assembly Service (CAS) report
- LSAT score or approved alternative
- Personal statement
- Current resume
- Letters of recommendation
- Any additional information the applicant wishes to provide
UNT Dallas College of Law uses a holistic review process. We evaluate academic history, standardized test scores, writing samples, recommendations, work experience and other relevant factors to assess readiness for legal study.
UNT Dallas College of Law does not set a minimum LSAT score.

*The applicant must have a recent LSAT score (taken within three years of the application submission date).
Please be aware that the College of Law will not review an application without a completed CAS Report. You must make sure that you have completed all requirements with LSAC so that your report is transmitted to the College of Law. Your report is not complete until you have a valid LSAT score, submitted transcripts from all academic institutions attended, and submitted the required two letters of recommendation for authentication and certification by LSAC.

Qualifications for Admission to the Bar
In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Addresses for all relevant agencies are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners.
Character and Fitness
All states require applicants to the bar to establish their character and fitness to practice law. All law school applicants should carefully review the character and fitness requirements for the state in which they intend to practice. Application Deadline
The deadline is March 15 for applicants wishing to begin law school as 1L students the following fall. No late applications will be accepted. To strengthen your opportunity for admission, you should apply early. Applicant files are reviewed and admissions offers are made on a rolling basis. Thus, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all required documents as early as possible. We enroll first-year students in the fall of each year.
