Trailblazer Bar Study Scholarship

The Trailblazer Bar Study Scholarship was created by UNT Dallas College of Law to help reduce financial barriers during the two-month bar study period. The scholarship supports eligible graduates and final-semester students preparing for the July 2026 bar exam, particularly those whose financial circumstances may limit the time they can devote to bar preparation.

Eligibility
Applicants must be:

  • A UNT Dallas College of Law graduate or student in their final semester.
  • Preparing for the July 2026 bar exam.
  • Enrolled in a commercial bar preparation program, such as Themis Bar Review, Barbri Bar Review or Helix Bar Review.

Selection criteria include financial need, academic achievement, community and extracurricular activities, and leadership experience.

Applicants must also agree to allow UNT Dallas College of Law to track their commercial bar review program progress and release their bar passage results to the College of Law.

Individuals with violations of the UNT Dallas Code of Conduct, the UNT Dallas Honor Code or Title IX are not eligible to apply.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the completed application and all required materials as one PDF. Required materials include:

  • Completed Trailblazer Bar Study Scholarship Application.
  • Proof of enrollment in a commercial bar preparation program.
  • Résumé.
  • Official or unofficial law school transcript.
  • Completed Scholarship Applicant Financial Statement.
  • One-page statement explaining the applicant’s financial need and how the award will be used.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Central time May 6, 2026. Incomplete applications, applications not submitted as one PDF and applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
