Daisy and Jazmin Enriquez are more than twin sisters. They are coworkers, study partners, and soon to be proud MBA recipients.

On December 16, 2025, the UNT Dallas graduate students will walk the Commencement stage together. It won’t be the first time. In 2023, Daisy and Jazmin earned their Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) degrees, accepting their diplomas jointly – Daisy followed by Jazmin – in alphabetical order.

“Very proud,” the siblings said in unison when asked how their parents feel about their dual achievements.

Daisy and Jazmin are seemingly inseparable. They attended elementary, middle and high school side-by-side in Grand Prairie ISD. They went to Dubiski Career High School, which focuses on college and career readiness. Their studies at Dubiski inspired the sisters to seek business-related degrees. But where?

Promise Made, Promise Kept

At a college recruiting event, Daisy and Jazmin learned about Dallas County Promise, a program that pays tuition for eligible students who are accepted into specific partner institutions. It was more than they had hoped for and made their dream of higher education a reality.

“Our parents were very happy,” said Daisy, about the financial pressure lifted by the Promise Tuition Grant. The funds allowed Daisy and Jazmin to attend Dallas College, attaining associate degrees, before transferring to UNT Dallas in 2021. All four years of their undergraduate tuition was covered by the grant. The sisters only had to pay for books and assorted fees.

Finding Their Way Together

Navigating college was a challenge, because Daisy and Jazmin didn’t have mentors to show them the way. Neither their parents nor their two older brothers went to college. But the sisters figured it out by leaning on each other for support and inspiration. “We were both learning as we go, teaching each other,” said Jazmin. “We had a built-in study partner,” said Daisy with a laugh.

As expected, they agree on the most difficult part, echoing many other students. “The workload, managing your time,” said Daisy as Jazmin nodded her head in approval. The opportunity to earn their bachelor’s degree motivated the pair to persevere.

Even though most of their classes have been online, especially during the MBA program, the sisters acknowledge the importance of their professors, especially their availability for one-on-one or two-on-one meetings. “We recognize them and they recognize us,” Daisy said. “We like our professors’ feedback.”

Online courses offered the young women flexibility and convenience. Throughout their college years, they have worked as testers for Grand Prairie ISD, keeping alive a connection that began when they were five-years-old in kindergarten.

"Go For It"

Now just days from Commencement at the Texas Trust CU Theater in Grand Prairie (not far from their home), Daisy and Jazmin are focusing on what’s next in their lives and careers. They are seeking roles in HR and management. Asked their greatest strength, Daisy replied, “Anything with numbers,” while Jazmin said, “Organization.”

Over the holidays, the sisters are spending time with family, which includes babysitting their nieces and nephews and walking their dogs. They welcome the downtime, after five continuous years of college and university coursework.

As they prepare to celebrate their achievements at UNT Dallas, these accomplished young women have advice for other high school students considering college, especially those who would be first-generation college students. Daisy and Jazmin agreed, “Go for it, give it a try.” Exactly the advice expected from this pair of outstanding Trailblazers.
