What is the difference between Graduating and walking in the Commencement Ceremony?
Graduation is the process that verifies all degree requirements have been met, and the degree awarded (i.e., conferred). Students must apply for graduation in their final term. You are not required to participate in the commencement ceremony in order to graduate. Please review the information provided on this page for preparation to graduate.
If you are enrolled in your last semester and plan to graduate in Spring or Fall, visit your my.untdallas.edu student portal and select the Apply for Graduation link to submit your application by the deadline listed on the Academic Calendar. See instructions for graduation to apply to graduate.
After you apply for graduation, immediately verify with your academic advisor (undergraduates) or program coordinator (graduates) that you are eligible for graduation.
Graduation Fee: A $50.00 graduation fee will be applied to your student account towards the end of the term. The fee will need to be paid before a diploma or transcript can be mailed to your permanent address.
Graduation emails will be sent to your UNT Dallas email address once you have successfully applied.

All decisions of the committee are final.

Graduation candidates whose UNT Dallas coursework meets the honor requirements will receive the following honors:
An email will be sent to students who qualify for honors in their graduating term. The final UNT Dallas grade point average will be used to make the determination.
Please note the following policy change:
*Second Bachelor’s and Master’s candidates are not eligible for graduation with honors.
Once a student’s degree has been conferred, the awarded degree program will be reflected on the official transcript. Additionally, an earned double degree, double major, minor(s), concentration(s) and Latin honors (undergraduates only) will appear on the transcript after final review, approval, and degree conferral by the Registrar’s Office.
