Texas Law Enforcement Peer Network

TLEPN Vision and Mission

Vision: Our vision is to build and maintain the best state-wide Peer Network possible, and to give continuous support to the Law Enforcement Officers in the field.     

Mission: Our Mission is to eliminate police suicide in the state of Texas, because even one is too many.

How Do I Participate

 


officers shaking handsThe Texas Law Enforcement Peer Network (TLEPN) is a state-wide program designed to give every Texas Law Enforcement Officer access to specially trained peers to address stressors, trauma, fatigue and other needs to combat workforce burnout and end Police suicide and self-harm.  The network will train and mentor police officer volunteers to assist their fellow officers manage stressors both on and off the job.   

  • Simple to use: Download the App, get access code from MyTCOLE, select a peer from the list, and reach out for help or contact the network by phone at (972) 336-1314 or by email at TLEPN@untdallas.edu 
  • Completely anonymous: User information is not saved or shared. You do not even have to use your work contact info when reaching out for help.
  • Cops helping Cops: The peers available are all volunteers and are trained by TCOLE standards to help when it is needed the most.

In the face of devastating loss within their department, these dedicated individuals have demonstrated what it means to be a true support system in law enforcement.  The Peer Support Network includes Certified Peer Supporters, Blue Dots, Liaisons, and Behavioral Health professionals who are specially trained to provide psychological first aid, trauma debriefing, and emotional support services.  

The Team continues to respond swiftly and compassionately to facilitate wellness education and outreach across all units and coordinates peer-to-peer intervention and critical incident debriefings.
