Mother of Six Makes the Most of Her Second Chance at College
Nicole Everitt’s first attempt at college didn’t go well. She’s partially deaf, and transitioning from her small high school to a large auditorium was difficult. Fast forward 17 years, and the 35-year-old mother of six will graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) on December 17. She will receive a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.

A legend of the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law will retire on June 30. Ernest "Ernie" Higginbotham has been the facilitator of the Judge Louis A. Bedford Jr. Mentorship Program for nearly a decade. Under his leadership, the program has helped more than 800 graduates complete law school and enabled them to make valuable connections within the legal community.
