Purpose-Driven, Career-Ready Leaders Framework

Guided by our mission, vision, and values, UNT Dallas is creating a purpose-driven, career-ready educational experience where every undergraduate student develops enduring human skills, gains responsible AI competencies, and engages in high-impact learning experiences that integrate employer partnerships, real-world application, and career exploration throughout their academic journey, preparing them to lead with purpose in a rapidly changing world.

This website is designed to be a resource guide for undergraduate faculty to enhance degree programs in ways that align with the faculty’s aspirational vision for the program in combination with the Framework for Developing Purpose-Driven, Career-Ready Leaders.

It is intended to be utilized by program faculty collectively in making key decisions for the curriculum as well as for individual faculty in planning individual components.

Note: Please visit this website regularly as it will be updated as needed, based on feedback, and as new resources and guidance become available.

Summary Planning Checklist

This guide is intended to support program faculty in planning key steps in ways that foster reflection, exploration, and curriculum enhancements in service of the program’s aspirational vision. Below, you’ll find additional guidance related to each checklist component.

Step 1: Envision Aspirational Outcomes for Students

Tool: Aspirational Outcomes
This tool is designed to support faculty in collaboratively creating an aspirational vision for program outcomes.

Framework Summary

  • High-Impact Practices
  • Employer Engagement
  • Enduring Human Skills
  • Responsible AI

Step 2: Assess Program Strengths and Opportunities

Tool: Program Assessment for Four Pillars
This tool is designed to capture strengths and opportunities based on program faculty discussions. Faculty are free to adapt the tool to include additional components derived from the aspirational vision created in Step 1.

Step 3: Create a Program Roadmap for Enhancements

Tool: Degree Program Collaboration SharePoint site
This site contains individual program files tailored to your program and lists every course. It is designed to assist you in planning – but please feel free to adapt as needed. Or, you are free to use another planning tool that meets your needs.

Step 4: Explore Research & Best Practices

The links above are intended to provide initial guidance on each pillar. You are welcome and encouraged to engage in additional exploration tailored to your program. Also, please note that CITL, CELCS, and others will be providing professional learning sessions on each pillar and are also available for consultation.

Step 5: Make the Course Enhancements

As you make enhancement, please reference the course planning guides found on each of the web pages for the associated pillar.
Also, please reference the course syllabus template as needed.

Step 6: Create Program and Course Proposals in Coursedog for submission

Please see Course and Program Proposal Forms for additional information for making submissions.
