Every critical incident leaves a lasting impact on responders, agencies, families, and communities. This page exists to honor those affected, examine lessons learned from tragedy, and highlight how the Texas Law Enforcement Peer Network (TLEPN) responds during times of crisis. Through peer support, wellness resources, education, and long-term recovery efforts, TLEPN works to strengthen resilience, support first responders, and help build healthier and more prepared communities across Texas.
On May 24, 2022, a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde claimed the lives of 19 children and 2 teachers and profoundly impacted first responders, families, and the surrounding community.
In the aftermath of the incident, the Texas Law Enforcement Peer Network (TLEPN) coordinated peer support and wellness resources for affected agencies and personnel across the region. According to the U.S. Department of Justice Critical Incident Review, TLEPN mobilized statewide peer support resources, coordinated with CopLine, developed culturally competent clinician referral resources, and provided outreach and long-term wellness support planning for responding agencies.
