Panhandle WildFire Emergency Response

Self-directed, independent, and immediate support during times of crisis, trauma, or stress fatigue.

TCOLE Lincensed 1st Responders - Please ensure you have downloaded our peer support app to recieve recent notifications, find more resources, and have the ability to reach out to a peer in Texas.

Steps to Take After a Disaster

1. Conduct Wellness and Health Assessments 1st to yourself and then to others
2. Stay somewhere safe
3. Contact family or friends to relay your current condition and location
4. Stay tuned into your local emergency services and Texas HHS dial: 211
5. Prepare for closures and outages utilize Texas Roadside Assistance dial: 999
6. Practice food safety - only consuming known edible products non-contaminated / non-spoiled
7. Seek mental and physical help
8. Use only licensed professionals for repairs Texas Department of Insurance
9. But most important - Stay healthy and safe

Utilize the link to find Post Critical Incident Seminars (PCIS) and Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD) that are peer led, or one-on-one group sessions. You may schedule these sessions which are led by trained peer support teams, licensed mental health professionals, and chaplains.
