The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) was established in 2018 at the University of North Texas at Dallas. Our mission is to support research initiatives by providing excellent administrative services to administration, faculty, and staff in the pursuit and management of Research and Innovation, and to engage in development strategies and activities to further the university’s mission.
ORI consists of a Pre- and Post-Award team that serves as the coordinating office for externally funded research. ORI is responsible for submitting all sponsored project proposals on behalf of UNT Dallas to the respective entities (e.g., government – local, state, and federal; private; and nonprofit). ORI works closely with administration, faculty, and staff to assist and provide guidance in proposal development. ORI also provides proposal review services. Additionally, ORI assists with proper stewardship of award negotiations, award acceptance, and closeout of awards received by UNT Dallas while successfully ensuring the university’s integrity through the funding process. Further, ORI works with faculty, staff, and administration to facilitate and enhance partnerships and collaborations between the UNT Dallas research community, federal and state agencies, foundations, corporations, and global research enterprises while ensuring compliance with university and external agency guidelines.
